Seasonal depression impacts far more people than one would think. With another cold weekend forecasted for this coming weekend, don’t spend it at home alone. Instead, reach out to your local library to see if it participates in the Iowa Adventure Pass.
This program offers discounted tickets, sometimes even free, to various places around Iowa. Some destinations include The Science Center, Blank Park Zoo, Blue Zoo and Reiman Gardens.
If the local library participates in the Iowa Adventure Pass, members can go to the Iowa Adventure Pass website, click the drop-down menu, and select “Book A Pass.” Select a local library and enter a preferred date to go on an adventure.
A list of options will appear with details about what is covered with the pass. Many offer admission for two adults and two children, but be sure to read the details. After selecting a pass that works, a valid library card number and PIN will need to be entered to reserve it. Some passes may require pickup from the library.
Go on an adventure this weekend with a friend, family or even go solo to help combat the effects of seasonal depression.
