Spring time is coming up here in Boone, Iowa, and you know what that means… Head Coach David Pearson and his DMACC Bear team are preparing for the baseball season. The team is currently 8 games in and look more than prepared for the rest of the competition. DMACC baseball player, Malik Moore, tells us how he and the team have been looking during workouts. Moore is one of the 18 sophomores on the team and is an evident leader. “Our workouts have been very tough but productive at the same time.” “For practices, we usually condition 2 days out of the week, then do skill workouts 3 days.” Tyler Bujanowski is a freshman on the baseball team. “With this being my first year here, if is a big difference from high school ball. We really work hard here and I feel the whole team actually wants to win. Coach P (Pearson) really knows what he’s talking about and his game plans are on point.” The team’s next game is on the 11th against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. The team did extremely well in the fall league so they have the potential to be great. “It’s just a matter of staying disciplined and keeping composure.” Head coach David Pearson said. “We have to learn how to play smarter. We play hard that’s no doubt. But that will only get you so far.” The team’s current record is 3-5 but are definitely looking to pick things up.
