The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) freshman Molly Jacobsen of Adel the ICCAC Division II Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 27 to April 2.

This marks the third time Jacobsen has been honored by the conference. She also received the award for the weeks of Feb. 20 to 26 and Feb. 27 to March 5. And Jacobsen is also the third DMACC softball player to be honored. Sophomore Kerigan Torres of Des Moines was named was named ICCAC Division II Softball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 13 to 19 and sophomore Ashley Sicard of Ackley was named ICCAC Division II Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 13 to 19.

Jacobsen went 2-0 and compiled an 0.58 earned run average during the week as she pitched the Bears to wins against North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC). She pitched 12 innings, struck out 19 batters and walked two in running her record to 10-2.

For the season, Jacobsen has a 1.32 ERA, ranking her 13th in the nation. She leads the nation in strikeouts per game, averaging 11.58, and is second nationally in total strikeouts with 123.
