Former DMACC Softball pitcher Molly Jacobsen has been named transfer of the year by Softball America.  Jacobsen is now a junior at the University of Mississippi (UM). She shares this honor with two other players, Samantha Show from Oklahoma State University and Amanda Sanchez of Louisiana State University.

Jacobsen was a star for DMACC in the two years prior to transferring to UM.  Both years at DMACC she earned All-American honors and was dubbed as the National Junior College Association (NJCAA) Pitcher of the Year.

In her final season as a Bear, Jacobsen was a part of a DMACC team that posted a 26-2 record and finished third in the NLCAA College World Series.   She posted and eye-popping 0.47 ERA in that final year at DMACC.

For her new team,  she has a 1.35 earned run average which ranks third in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), ranks sixth in strikeouts (98), and second in saves (3).

The Rebels have had big wins this season, most notably: Florida, Minnesota, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and South Carolina.  Their current record is 30-11 and are ranked tenth nationally by Softball America.
