It’s not every day that the Boone campus gets a visit from two nationally known artists, in the same week.
On November 30th, Sten Joddi will be speaking on campus at 10 AM in the auditorium. Joddi is an award-winning rapper, tattoo artist and is an activist for indigenous representation. Joddi played Punkin Lusty on the hit Hulu show Reservation Dogs. A couple of the topics that Joddi will be speaking about are colonization and its effects on Indigenous People today, why mascots are bad, indigenous representation in today’s society, land rights, and the US Supreme Court ruling on McGrit vs Oklahoma on reservation boundary territories and tribal jurisdiction laws. As registration is required for this event, scan the QR code above to get signed up for this free event.
The second guest coming to campus is Ashlee Haze. On December 1st, Haze will be performing in the Courter Center from 12:15 to 1:00 PM. Haze is a profound poet and spoken word artist from Atlanta. The event for Ashlee does not require registration so keep an eye on Banner Billboard for more updates to come.
