A new club is coming to the DMACC Boone Campus. The new club is called Esports. What are esports? Short for electronic sports, it is a form of video game competition. Esports often involves organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players, individual players, or teams.
The Boone campus club currently includes Christian Cryder, the club’s advisor, and Andrew Kuennen, a student member of the esports club. Christian said he started a conversation with another IT guy on the DMACC Ankeny campus, and they both love playing video games. They came up with the idea of creating a DMACC E-Sports club for the Ankney and Boone campuses.
Andrew, also a fellow gamer, said some of the games that might be available would be Call Of Duty, Rocket League, Minecraft, and others. Andrew said that once someone joins the club, the member will be given a key card to access the room and join the discord server to chat with fellow members.
