With challenging footing and terrain, DMACC women finished first with 46 points to Faith Baptist Bible’s 45 points Sept. 12, when DMACC men’s and women’s teams traveled to Mason City for the Trent Smith Invitational.
Freshman Addy Tesch finished second in 19 minutes, 41 seconds.
Sophomores Mariah Falkena and Cece Thompson, along with freshmen Sarah Chittum and Addy Doolittle, also finished in the top 10 for DMACC. Freshman Megan Steele finished 12th.
The DMACC men captured another first-place finish in Mason City. They scored 24 points while placing six runners in the top 10.
Sophomore Gabe List finished second to lead the men’s team. Freshmen Brady Singer and Dorain Myers finished fourth and fifth, respectively, out of 37 runners in the first 8K of their careers. Freshmen William Nesbit and Ayden Martinez, along with sophomore Owen Ament, finished ninth, 12th and 19th.
The next scheduled meet is Oct. 9 at Indian Hills. According to coach Michael Melchert, another meet could be added before then.
