With Week 8 of the NFL season approaching, fantasy football managers have several players worth adding to their rosters. Four teams are on a bye, while injuries have opened opportunities for other players.
At quarterback, Malik Willis is available in 80% of Yahoo Fantasy leagues. Willis has his No. 1 wide receiver, Caleb Douglas, back from injury, giving him a playmaker for short passes while the Miami Dolphins throw to catch up the rest of the season. Jacoby Brissett of the Arizona Cardinals has a strong matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, who have the league’s worst pass defense.
Running back offers several options. Jonah Coleman of the Denver Broncos is a top pickup after leading Denver’s running backs in carries and scoring a touchdown in Week 7. Coach Sean Payton rarely uses him in the passing game compared with RJ Harvey, who also scored on a reception. Kaelon Black of the San Francisco 49ers should be rostered in every league as a backup to Christian McCaffrey. Black showed efficiency when McCaffrey was injured, running 12 times for 63 yards and a touchdown, though his fumble is a concern.
At wide receiver, Omari Cooper Jr. is rostered in 56% of Yahoo Fantasy leagues. In his first two games back from injury, the New York Jets first-round pick posted back-to-back 100-yard games. He has shown strong chemistry with Geno Smith and could become the team’s top receiver by season’s end. Douglas offers big-play potential, scoring three touchdowns in two games for the Dolphins. He caught two passes for 70 yards and a touchdown last week after recording 90 yards and a score in Week 1. KC Concepcion is coming off an eight-catch, 129-yard performance against the Tennessee Titans.
At tight end, Chig Okonkwo is worth a pickup on the Washington Commanders. Quarterback Jayden Daniels lost Terry McLaurin for the season, leaving Okonkwo in line for the second-most targets behind Stefon Diggs.
