This Friday is National Wear Red Day, which is to bring awareness to a problem area in women’s health, cardiovascular disease. Heart disease is the number one cause of death for women according to the American Heart Association, which promotes Wear Red Day. The idea of Wear Red Day is to raise awareness for this problem, as well as to show support for those who are suffering from cardiovascular diseases.
This year’s Wear Red day also kicks off the beginning of American Heart Month, which is the whole month of February. Raising awareness and funds for the problem of heart health is one of the goals of the American Heart Month, but another aspect is to encourage people to eat healthy and take care of themselves.
This Friday is the perfect time to show support for anyone you know who is suffering from a heart disease, as well as any women who are at an increased risk of developing a heart disease, so wear red to support all the women who are struggling with these issues.
