Olympic Gold Medalist Ed Banach will be speaking from 12:15 to 12:45 in the DMACC Boone Auditorium this Friday, March 29th. Ed Banach wrestled for the United States in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, which is where he won his gold medal. Ed Banach also wrestled for the University of Iowa from 1980-1983, and was very successful there. He won several awards during his time at Iowa, including being a four-time NCAA All-American, and the Big Ten Athlete of the Year in 1983. After his active wrestling career, Ed Banach became an assistant coach at Iowa State University. He retired in 1987 and now runs a spring wrestling clinic in Ames, Iowa, which is where he lives currently. Come to the auditorium this Friday to hear this accomplished athlete speak.
